The legendary Muskellunge is Canada's largest freshwater predator fish. Dedicated muskie anglers live for the chance to catch this fish which is referred to as the "fish of 10,000 casts".

Northwestern Ontario provides the best opportunity to catch this ferocious fish. "Of the top 15 Ontario muskie catches on record, 11 were caught in Northwestern Ontario".

Whether you seek the fish of a lifetime or the time of your life, the waters of Clearwater and Pipestone Lakes are among the best musky fishing in North America.

Muskie season opens on the 3rd Saturday of June and closes on December 15. The minimum length in which you may keep one fish with a sportfishing licence is 48"

We strongly urge our guests to practice C.P.R.

Peak fishing times for muskie are June and again in September and October when the water is cooler.

Early season success can come to those who fish areas close to weed and reed filled bays. Jerkbaits, in-line bucktails and spinnerbaits in natural colors perform well in our clear waters.

This Clearwater Lake muskie was caught in shallow water with a  black and red Mepps Musky Killer lure.

Clearwater and Pipestone Lakes have many classic muskie holding structures including saddles, underwater humps, mid lake shoals, weeds, deep shorelines and fallen shoreline trees. Deep water trolling with crankbaits above the baitfish often produces.

July and August can also provide excellent muskie fishing. Our dock-hand Luke caught this 52" Clearwater Lake muskie in July.

Quality equipment is essential for muskie fishing.

A 6 1/2 - 7 ft. medium heavy action baitcasting rod and baitcasting reel spooled with 30-65 lb test braided line.

Polarized sunglasses, camera, soft measuring tape and a release kit with bolt cutters and long nosed pliers should be part of your basic tackle.

The picture on the left is the Ontario record muskie that weighed 65 pounds and measured 58 inches in length and a girth of 30.5 inches.

Besides the Ontario muskie record all pictures are of our guests or guides.

To ensure a quality world class muskie fishery now and in the future we are committed to catch and release and expect our guests to be as well.
