Nature & Wildlife
Little Moose Lodge is about more than a great hunting or fishing adventure, its about the opportunity to experience nature in all its splendor! Far from the busy city streets and hustle and bustle of urban life, the lodge is nestled beneath majestic white pines, cedars and balsams. It's truly a photographer's paradise. We are located in a pristine setting, a wonderful place to get away from daily stresses, where sparkling clear waters, rugged shorelines, and wildlife in their natural habitat is what you can expect to see all day.

Just a few steps from our lodge is access to Clearwater Lake's hiking trail. 3-1/2 miles of a maintained trail winding along the shoreline and through the woods, it's truly a prefect place to go nature watching. One may consider it a birdwatcher's paradise; expect to see a great variety of species of birds along the trail. Or, you could decide to go berry picking, all the while taking in the breathtaking scenery and a variety of plant growth on your hike. Be sure to bring your camera, you do not want to miss the wonderful photo opportunities.

If hiking is not for you, one will have the chance to see such amazing things from their boat as well. We are truly located in God's Country, surrounded by natural beauty. At Little Moose Lodge it is common to see:
Majestic Bald Eagles - many mating pairs throughout the chain of lakes
Black Bear - common to see swimming in the lakes
Whitetail Deer - they are everywhere
Beavers - every lake has several to dozens of beaver houses
Otters - these crafty critters love to steal minnows from unlocked bait buckets
Pelicans - mostly at the North end of Clearwater at the rapids
Ducks, Canada Geese and Loons - you can't miss the call of the loon
Snapping Turtles - watch your stringer of fish or it will become turtle lunch
Dozens of bird species and small game in and around camp

|
Please note, contrary to our name, moose are not frequently seen in our area. About the only moose you're bound to see is our mascot!
Wolf populations in our area are very strong; although you may hear them howling it's rare to see one of these elusive wolves.
