Guides will discuss hunting strategy with you based on weather, wind, recent deer activity; and of course your capabilities and desires. Your guide will transport you with 4×4 truck, ATV or boat to a location where you'll hike in the rest of the way to the stand or blind. Radio contact is provided, as your guide will check on you several times during the day.
Some of the areas may require shots of 200-300 yards, most of our stands are situated in areas where your shots will be less than 100 yards. For archery we have stands set up for up to 30 yard shots. The stands or blinds are set in the bush alongside smaller meadows or close to trails used by the big elusive bucks. Some are baited with salt licks and corn kernels. Many bucks are shot in late morning and early afternoon.
When your deer is down, guides will field dress and get your deer out and transport it back to camp, where it will be hung on the buck rack. If your deer is wounded we will utilize all resources to track it down. A wounded deer is considered a dead deer whether harvested or not.
We will do everything we can to provide you with a memorable and rewarding hunting experience. We expect your dedication to hunt hard everyday and to put in full days, just as we do for you. Come with the attitude that there is no guarantee of harvesting a trophy whitetail because we do not provide canned or game farm fenced hunts. Your hunting experience will be a truly rewarding challenge that tests your skill and ability to adapt to the whitetail's environment. We want you to enjoy all that Northwest Ontario outdoors has to offer, and at the end of your stay you will leave with a bunch of great memories…and hopefully your trophy buck!
